Brief History and Introduction
Beckton Maranatha church was set up in the early 2000s by a small group made up of a few families who previously worshipped in Maranatha, Hayes, west London. Once the church was set up, the congregation increased rapidly leading to the emergence of other branches in the later years of 2000 and early 2010s.
The current facility has hosted our congregation for over 20 years. However, while the facility offers good services such as an office facility, church space and dining facilities, the services are restricted to specific hours each week therefore limiting the church’s ability to do more and severely reducing the positive impact the church makes in the community.
For the restricted time the church can meet in the facility we have consistently been able to pay a subsidized rent of nearly £20,000 every year. This works out to a conservative figure of £400,000 in the duration the church has existed in the Beckton area. This represents a lost opportunity to have our own facilities and develop services to reach out to more people in the community and make a greater impact.
Current opportunities
Beckton Maranatha Church is able to offer the following to the community:
- Health education and screening for lifestyle diseases
- Community games over the summertime
- Youth engagement and sports
- Free lunch meals on Saturdays
- Spiritual guidance and counselling
Current services offered are severely restricted due to a lack of specially dedicated facilities for the type of services we offer, and we would like to expand the breadth and depth of our engagement in the community. Our church community of dedicated members would like to do more continuously if only we owned or controlled a similar facility. That is why we are now appealing for your support in realizing our dream….

Church strategy on Raising the fund.
-
Churches may organize special offerings during services or events dedicated to raising funds for building projects. These offerings can be one-time events or recurring collections over a period.
-
Church members may be asked to make pledges or commitments to donate a certain amount of money over a defined period. This allows the church to plan and budget for the project accordingly.
-
Churches often host fundraising events such as dinners, concerts, auctions, or festivals to raise money for building projects. These events not only generate funds but also foster a sense of community and involvement among members.
